It's Almost Time to Plant (or Is It?)

In Montana, it seems like there’s always a chance of snow, no matter the season. From late-spring storms to summertime graupel, we get used to planning for the worst that Mother Nature can throw at us. While our team is busy readying trees, organizing the first hundred flats of flowers, and lining up shrubs, we’re also keeping a weather eye on what’s coming next.

We frequently advise customers to plant for their property’s conditions, from how much water is available to how much sunlight they receive throughout the growing season. What also factors in to successful gardening is how in tune you are with the weather challenges in your neighborhood. Last summer, a few late-season hail storms battered just about every plant in Billings, bruising bark, hail (and more than a few feelings). This year, we’re still wondering what the season has in store for us.

So far, our winter has been blissfully mild, but it sure isn’t over yet. While we put the finishing touches on new deliveries throughout the month of March, we’ll also be looking at long-term forecasts and preparing for summer 2020.
